Todmorden Harvest Festival 30th September
The People of Todmorden have spearheaded an incredible approach to the growing of fresh vegetables and fruit in her native Todmorden. Her approach is so similar to the growing of plants. Scatter the seeds and let them do the rest. Mary has scattered the seeds of Community Growing and the concept is now springing up in towns and cities as far away as Canada. The touring exhibition 'Race for Time' has been invited to take part in their Harvest Festival celebrations . The sculptures and artworks can now rub shoulders with the vegetables and fruit trees that have sprung up all the available cracks and crevices of Todmorden, and this pioneering scheme. HRH Prince Charles visited the SDC Championships for the 21st Century in London on the 25th August 2011.
